Informzaschita Develops an IS concept for the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade

The defense of scientific and research theses took place at the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade on December 4, 2014. The theses were related to information security issues. General Director of Informzaschita Sergey Sherstobitov and a team of the project architects presented the information security concept elaborated for the Ministry.

Representatives of the Information Technologies and Public Relations Department in charge of information security of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade as well as representatives of the Administration Department belonging to the key users of the Ministry’s personal data processing systems and Foreign Trade State Regulation Department acting as an operator of the State Information System were present during the defense procedure.

The reports were devoted to the development of a method for the organizational and technical support of integrated personally identifiable information (PII) security of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, in particular, offers related to the organization of a PII security system. Offers concerning the establishment of an integrated information and analytical system to prevent confidential information leaks, creation of an information and technology mechanism and standardization of the Ministry’s IS processes were also discussed.

In their report, experts from Informzaschita proposed an integrated security system to prevent confidential information leaks as well as a PII security system for handling such data by the Ministry.

“The results of the scientific and research theses will enable us to achieve an entirely new level of information security in the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade in compliance with the up-to-date requirements in this field. Moreover, our Ministry being an executive authority must comply with the state regulations in the field of information security. The results to be obtained due to the projects will ensure full compliance with such requirements,” Deputy Director of the Ministry’s Information Technologies and Public Relations Department Svetlana Dotsenko commented.
